www.RubbinSalt.comNovember 19, 2016 Advanced Masonry presented Warriors Rock featuring Gary Racan and the studio e band. The performance took place at the Waynesburg Central High School Auditorium, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Honoring Veterans, the passing of Veteran Salty Buchtan, and a young cancer fighter, Braedyn Wasko.
The Veterans highlighted in the show were Mike Belding, Robert Blaker, William Crick, Robert Elliott, Renee Griedel, Jerry Mellix, John Ochkie, Joe Popielarcheck, and Don Voitech. Each shared a story about their time in the military and of course a song that reminded them of home. Stairway to Heaven was a request and it was performed perfectly in spite of the fact Gary and the band had never performed the song before.
A special song was dedicated to Emil “Salty” Buchtan who passed recently at the age of 93. Salty served in the US Navy during WWII and during the Korean Conflict. Gary sang “Wise and Patient Eyes” to an audience that was taken in by the beautiful song and the meaning behind the words.
A special one of a kind guitar made and autographed by Don Oriolo was presented to Braedyn Wasko, a student fighting Ewing Sarcoma. Oriolo is the son of the creator Felix the Cat which is on depicted on the face of the guitar. Oriolo is a songwriter, record producer and artist extraordinaire. He wrote and produced “The Long Journey” album for Racan that rocks! Braedyn has a rare form of bone cancer that only one percent of the population is diagnosed with each year.
Braedyn was also brought on stage with this sister to join Gary Racan and the studio e band in a fun song. A short clip the Carmichaels Football team was played showing the entire team shaving their heads in support of Braedyn.
